AISI 4140 is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with high fatigue strength, toughness and wear resistance. Controlled additions of chromium, molybdenum, nickel or vanadium give alloy steel higher strength, deeper hardenability, better toughness and stronger performance at elevated temperature.
